MEET KATIE

Katie Martini is a singer and songwriter from California, now finding her voice in Anchorage, Alaska. Before her move to AK, Katie spent ten years in Southern California earning a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Cal State University, Fullerton and working in the OC and LA classical music scene. Some of her most notable experience from that time include performing the soprano II solo on Tarik O’Regan’s The Ecstasies Above at Carnegie Hall in 2015, singing the soprano soloist role in a 2018 performance of Mendelssohn’s Elijah, conducted by John Alexander and alongside world-renowned operatic baritone, Rod Gilfry, and touring internationally as a chorister and soloist. With the CSUF University singers and the Grammy-award-winning Pacific Chorale, both directed by Dr. Robert Istad, she’s toured in Paris, Sweden, Estonia, Finland, Russia, Spain, Austria, Germany, and England.

Katie’s favorite opera roles have included Alice Ford in Otto Nicolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor, Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Cosí Fan Tutte, and Monica in Menotti’s The Medium. She can be heard in the choir and as a soloist on Nostos: Homecoming of Music and All Things Common: Music of Tarik O’Regan by Yarlung Records and, in the realm of voiceover, has recorded vocals on countless songs for Lingokids, Fisher Price’s Code ‘n Learn Kinderbot ™, and more.

Katie now hopes to encapsulate these experiences and her classical training in her own music as a singer songwriter. She’s loving the music scene in Anchorage, and can’t wait to see where it takes her!
